Haldane's Rule is a law in biology stating that the Hyrbrid offspring of a certain two species will nearly always be of one gender.
"When in the offspring of two different animal races one sex is absent, rare, or sterile, that sex is the heterozygous (heterogametic) sex."
With Mammals and flies (by golly) nearly always being female in gender, when being a hybrid baby, whereas in birds and plants, the opposite is true, with some natural hybrids (Cox's Sandpiper) being known from only male birds.

A Pacific Golden Plover - Photo by David McNicholas
The Pacific Golden Plover is the smallest species of Golden Plover, and one of my favorites. The Pacific Golden Plover is found throughout the Pacific Ocean and is a regular Migrant here in Australia. Never seen a bird like this? Wouldn't expect you to have. You rarely see birds like this in Australia, the ones you see look more like this.

The Grey Goshawk comes in two colour morphs. This Conspicuous White morph, and a Grey morph that it takes it name from. These birds are found in North and East Australia as well as Eastern Indonesia. These birds hunt in Semi-dead Trees, waiting for an unsuspecting mouse or rabbit (or any kind of introduced animal, hopefully) to stumble into the eyesight
